Cool to see that teachers are embracing crowdfunding as a way to get their local community involved in classrooms.

I think that DonorsChoose (http://www.donorschoose.org/) is doing an awesome job of providing a sorely needed service. Teachers shouldn't have to spend their own money on supplies when they have a low wage already and work long hours.

I think it is cool they are using crowd funding but it is also sad that they have to. This year the kids' paid over $150 in school supplies (per child). And it was bc the teachers included supplies they needed.

This is in no way dissing the article or teachers reaching out. I just think it's sad that they have to. :(
