A Bit of a health freak here so this project really seems cool to me :)

Deep fried butter? Coca-Cola on a stick? There's nothing simultaneously more fascinating and inventive, mouthwatering and abhorrent than the never ending parade of street foods at state fairs across the United States this summer.
But you're stuck at home with your boring family. So we want to bring the complete culinary experience to you.
Specifically, we want to drive two fun-loving, photogenic sidekicks - Randy and Katrina - to the Iowa State Fair and challenge them to sample and critique EVERY ONE of the 57 "stick foods" (http://www.iowastatefair.org/fair-attractions/food/on-a-stick/) at this year's 200+ vendors.

We'll be filming their every move, documenting every yum-yum and gag reflex over the course of two long days, and packaging their discoveries into a hilarious 30 minute film and companion 20-page coffee table book packed with pictures.

Did somebody say double bacon corn dog and chocolate covered chocolate chip cookie dough pops on-a-stick?
Yep. That was me. Just then.
We want our finished film to combine the often-contentious Siskel & Ebert-style review of each food product, with the laid-back, fun feeling of an episode of Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. That's why we're pairing an older, more gastronomically hesitant man (sorry, Randy) against a younger, more adventurous female - to create that kind of tension and provide a balanced perspective.
But it takes money and expertise to shoot, edit and produce the finished product, host the video online, and print all those DVDs and books. That's why we're asking for your help. We need to raise our goal by August 11 if we're going to make it in time for the fair.
And if we raise more than our goal? Jamaica, here we come baby.
Or maybe instead we'll use it to add additional features, behind the scenes content and perhaps some equally fun foods-off-a-stick to the DVD and book. Maybe.

But time is short! You only have one week to pitch in for this life-changing project or you'll never know for sure whether a deep-fried cupcake is everything it promises to be.

The Iowa State Fair, established in 1856, is one of the largest state fairs in the United States.
