What is Fostr?
Fostr is a place to share the creative projects you've always wanted to finish! Wether you've always wanted to record an album or even build a birdhouse, you can share your dream, post updates, and gain support from the community. The goal of Fostr is to build a community of people who want to share their creative experiences & guide and motivate people to finish their projects.

Why I need Help
I've spent a ton of time thinking of how Fostr will work as a website and a mobile app. I've also crafted a logo and designed a look and feel for the brand. All I need to do now is have it built! I need funding to hire a developer to execute my dream!

Where the Funds go
I'm trying to raise $2500 to get the development started. I am going to need much more than that to really get this idea off of the ground, but I think this will be a good start! If I do not reach my entire goal, the money will still be used to build the app, Ievery little bit counts!

How Fostr Will Change the World
There are so many people out there with great ideas and aspirations, but their project never gets completed because any spare time gets consumed by their day-to-day routines or they just don't know the next steps to take. Fostr will create a place to inspire, educate and guide people to finish their projects! We all know how a certain song or work of art can inspire others. Imagine all of those great ideas that have a better chance of being brought to life with the help of a little motivation and guidance.

Cool idea. What will be in it for the people who are giving advice and help? What motivates them to help out?

The app is all about helping out because you genuinely want to be a part of someone's success. Users will get rewarded for their helpful comments through badges and being ranked in the 'top supporters' charts... I'm purposefully not involving funding or anything like that because 1.) there are so many other sites out there like that and 2.) I want to keep things genuine.

Congrats on your 15% funding. I like the idea. You will be surprised at how many people will help others with ideas in exchange for a simple "Thanks you," or badge of some sort. We are in some exciting times full of crowdsoursing, crowdfunding, and the spread of ideas faster than ever before. Have you had experience developing other apps in the past?

Thanks Fred
I think people will surprise you with their genuineness :) It will be interesting to see though.. it would be my job to try to build a community of people who are there because they want to help.
I am actually an art director. Never developed an app myself but certainly designed them :)

The hardest part of any app launch is getting the downloads. Do you have a strategy for marketing your app?

Yes, since the app is geared towards creative people, I'll do most of my marketing on sites like dribbble and forrst. I will not be doing full-blast marketing from the beginning because I want the community to grow gracefully - it'll allow me to work out the kinks... From there, users will have invites to pass on to people they think would add to the community... and of course - word of mouth :)
