We're about to start a campaign that will benefit many bands and musicians, and we are asking them to send their fans our way. We'll have pages up for each band on our website (safe-xchange.com). We'll have "donate" buttons on each band page. People may come to that page from IndieGoGo or they may come directly from links on the band's pages or emails they send out.

Would there be a problem if the donate button did not go to IndieGoGo? At the same time, we'll be bringing in contributions from IndieGoGo. Is this going to be confusing? Will IndieGoGo object?

I've done considerable research, including reading the IndieGoGo terms of service carefully twice, and there does not seem to be any reason we can't do that. In fact, IGG makes a point of not taking responsibility for whatever marketing materials are found on websites that are linked to by the campaign.

There's another aspect to this- we need to make sure we are very clear about what we're doing so that it does not confuse patrons. But, if we do that, it is possible, and in our case, useful.

Yes, Indiegogo is very lenient. It's some of the other platforms which may not allow this kind of thing. Have you read over Kickstarter's Terms at all?

No, I think IndieGoGo is going to be better for this particular project than Kickstarter or any of the other platforms.
