The batteries in our mobile devices have not been able to keep up with the increased usage. As a result, we often find ourselves looking for places to charge. But many times, convenience and charging do not go hand in hand. At the Edison Junior Design Laboratory, we developed the perfect solution to this problem. POP, aka "Portable Power", is a rechargeable portable battery with retractable cord reels for simultaneously charging multiple devices. Don't be restricted by outlets or ugly chargers; with POP you are free to explore the vast world we live in, while remaining connected to it.

POP is both beautiful and powerful
POP's rechargeable 25,000 mAh battery makes it the largest portable device charger available. The below chart gives you an idea of just how big POP's battery is compared to the competition.

The power needed to charge your device is easily accessible through (4) retractable cord reels each with dual functioning iPhone/Micro-USB adapter. POP contains a HUGE rechargeable 25,000 mAh battery that is charged using the included 100/240 V AC adapter. To give you an idea of how large POP's battery is, it can charge up to 10 iPhones. This device is perfect for an iPad, Kindle, Kindle Fire, iPhone, Android, or any other micro-USB or Apple product.

So How Can we Achieve this?
Our team has experience in building consumer products like POP and we are confident that if funded we will deliver a quality product to you. Additionally, we have already made the necessary agreements with a large partner that insures we will be able to manufacture and deliver POP on time.
The $50,000 will be used to cover the one time costs involved (such as making the injection molds/tooling) for the production of POP. The money will not cover everything but we really believe that POP is a great product and if we hit $50,000 then we are going all in and starting up the production line.
So how about those cord reels?
The cord reels right now come out 3 feet. We are actively looking for a longer reel, we would like to have the final POP with a reel that can come out 4-5 feet. At a minimum we are guaranteeing 3 feet of cable.
A little more on the dual use power ends (iPhone/Micro-USB)
We are going to use a very cool charging tip for POP. This end allows each of the 4 cables to work for either iPhones/iPads or mini-USB which covers phones like Blackberries, Android, Kindles and many other devices. There are also 2 USB plugs on the bottom of the POP in case you have devices that use a special charging end.

Clever idea. Not one that hasn't been thought of yet, but if the battery performance is as good as it says, this would be one heck of a buy.
