Lets Colonize Mars by 2020
This campaign will receive all of the funds contributed by Mon Dec 17 at 11:59PM PT

Humanity has built many great civilizations. Think of how far we've come. We've moved mountains. We have been to the Moon and beyond, built nuclear submarines, space rovers, iphone 4, iphone 5 but for all what we've accomplished we have yet to colonize another planet.

Colonization of Mars by 2020 is the only way forward. Cataclysmic events, disease, tectonic events, the depleting ozone layer, climate change, threat of WAR, Rogue Nations and terrorists have all created too many variables in this equation for us not to worry about our future here on earth.

This campaign (Phase A) seeks to raise funds to pay for the following:
•Consultations with various major players in the space and manufacturing industry on the possibility of building a Mars Station to support Life and eventual Mars Colonization
•Feasibility Study of a Colony on Mars with Cost Analysis
•Develop a workable, long term plan towards the goal of human life on Mars by 2020
•Lobby international governments to focus on this issue
•Donations to National Geographic Society and others for their invaluable contribution

The IMPACT:
•Raise awareness of Planet Mars, our sister planet
•Raise awareness of the solar system and the other planets
•Increase awareness of climate change and its effects
•Enlist World Governments to enact laws which assist in combating threats against humanity
•Analyse the consequences of failing to build on Mars. Just imagine: no more miley cyrus haircuts, spice girls, evelyn lozada, taylor swift, chad ochocinco, chad johnson, powerball florida, facebook, youtube, yahoo, craigslist, games, news weather, alas folks...no more ebay.
•Campaign gets mentioned on Jay Leno's Show (after he pays respect to Tony Scott)

Other Ways You Can Help

Hey, great idea for a project, all the luck! Have you heard of MarsOne? They supposedly plan on colonizing Mars by 2023.

We have heard of them. However they plan to go in by 2024. It is our intention to get there by 2020.

Why not use a gigantic solar condenser (power thrusted by standard thermocouple-radioactive decay) close to the sun to generate a photon laser shot through free space, to another receiver/condenser near Mars that will heat up the surface.
BTW, there really doesn't seem any possibility of colonizing Mars (oxygen/nitrogen rich atmosphere), even within a half-century.

I propose we pivot and start a push to create cloud cities on Earth's sister twin planet Venus. Venus is reachable in a more than a third of the time it takes to reach Mars, has a similar atmosphere and would perfect for a Lando Calrissian-esque floating colony. Info is outthere, seriously. Thoughts?

We should focus on fixing where we are first instead of jumping planets. With that being said, this could buy us some more time until we figure out how to fix this screwed up situation we have gotten ourselves into on earth.
