Hello all,
I am very interested to find and to support Open Source Appliances projects.
I think an important factor for improving life on this world is to create a whole range of open sourced home appliances, especially the most popular ones. That would drive down the costs to buy and to repair them, and it would also help the people to learn how to repair them.
I think it would be useful to have three separate threads for Open Source Machines, Appliances and Hardware, but for the moment it's good enough to have a unified thread for all of them.

I also think that the administrators of this forum can help a lot the crowdfunding projects by creating opinion polls, allowing the users to vote for the machines they would like to see created. That would inspire those who want to start new projects, giving them ideas for creating something that is desired by many.

I will post in this thread the interesting Open Source Appliances, Machines and Hardware projects that I will find.
- The biggest project I found until now is the Open Source Ecology (OSE) Project which is making a set of 50 agricultural and industrial machines. The project is very good but it's too slow because the leader wants to re-create the civilization from scratch, instead of starting with some popular machines (which can bring cash and fame much easier) - http://www.ted.com/talks/marcin_jakubowski.html
- Another interesting project is Open Tech Forever, similar to OSE but without funds at the moment - http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/open-tech-forever-r-d-factory-for-open-source-industrial-hardware
- Wikispeed makes an open source car (not sure how much of it is open source though ) - http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/c3-the-100-mpg-open-source-comfy-commuter-car
- (Ongoing) FABtotum Personal Fabricator - 3D Printer / 3D Scanner / Milling - http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/fabtotum-personal-fabricator

- (Ongoing) The Open Hand Project: A Low Cost Robotic Hand - http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-open-hand-project-a-low-cost-robotic-hand

- Espruino is a JavaScript microcontroller - http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/48651611/espruino-javascript-for-things
- Race Capture Pro - race car data and real-time telemetry - http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/race-capture-pro-data-that-drives-you

Other projects found here on this forum:
- OpenROV - The Open Source Underwater Robot - http://crowdfundingforum.com/showthread.php/23-OpenROV-The-Open-Source-Underwater-Robot
- bladeRF - USB 3.0 Software Defined Radio - http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1085541682/bladerf-usb-30-software-defined-radio
- Platform - Catincan.com - Crowdfunding for Open Source

Please add in this thread all the open source hardware (including machines and appliances) projects you find worth to mention.
Thank you
