View Full Version : Handling Criticism

As with most cosplay-related crowdfunding projects, mine has taken a hit from those of the "you just want us to pay for your holiday" camp. Although I addressed this in the project description, it doesn't quite seem to work, so the criticism keeps coming. I politely point out that the project is a creative, inspirational odyssey (not unlike many photographer journeys out there), and that it is quite common for cosplayers to sell prints to fund their future endeavours. Unfortunately, there seems to remain a certain bitterness about our efforts.

From the perspective taken by these critics, nearly every crowdfunding project could be seen to have "selfish" purposes - furthering a career, 'holidays', etc. Has anyone else had similar problems, and if so how did you handle them?

You are right about every project having selfish ambition. Most projects are created to start a business or build something or create something for profit.
