This is some pretty significant news for those of you residing in New Zealand and Australia who want to jump on the Kickstarter bandwagon. Today both sites went live:

In addition, Kickstarter has announced that the first project will go live on November 13th, just about a month away. A few months ago Kickstarter launched in Canada and it has been a huge success with projects bringing in over $3 million so far.

Less than 2 weeks left. I noticed a major increase in number of projects listed and funded on Kickstarter when they launched in Canada a few months back. In My opinion this addition should be just as large, if not larger than that launch.

The downside to both Australia and New Zealand is the size of their populations, compared to the US and UK. I think, though, there are enough entrepreneurs in both countries to make Crowdfunding a success.

Yes this is true. I would love to see other European countries added, but I assume the biggest obstacle is the language. Seems like they are adding all the English Language countries for now. I assume eventually they may open hubs for others as well. Indiegogo is opened to pretty much everyone, however it does get a bit annoying viewing projects and finding it is in a language I don't understand. Google translate helps a lot though.
