I launched my Indiegogo campaign last week. I am an illustrator/designer, and launched my own design line, Altered History, in January 2012. I am totally self-funded, so I've been limited on what I can send into production, so I turned to crowd funding to help pay for production of my next pin design.

The Submariner design was inspired by Navy insignia. My designs have been described as retro-futuristic, and have been popular with the steampunk crowd, but many different people have responded positively to my work. I've had several Navy veterans respond well to this design too.

When I started my business, I made a commitment to only have my designs made in America. Currently I am working with a workshop in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to have my design brought to life (so to speak). Not only is this an American workshop, but it's also local to me, so I've been able to visit the workshop, get a tour, and see the production process - very cool! Everyone was really friendly and eager to show me what they were working on.

This campaign runs until Tuesday September 18th.

If you can't contribute, you can help me out by helping spread the word. Thanks!

Quick update: I got a call from the workshop that is producing the pin, and samples are ready. I should have a picture of what the finished product will look like in a day or two.

I went and picked up the samples of my pin design, and they are beautiful!

I'm sitting at 25% with a week left to go. Think we can double that in 3 days? Let's give it a shot!
